Wall Changes on Facebook
Facebook seems to be rolling out a small, but nice little change to the profiles walls. There is now simply a text box inviting you to write something and simply hit the ‘post’ button when you are done and viola there it is.
Maybe Wall Posts are going down or maybe Facebook is trying to make a push towards a more dynamically interactive approach to social networking.
It’s interesting that Facebook’s ‘Status’ feature seems to go largely unused (at least from what I’ve seen), while a site like Twitter…which at its most basic is the exact same thing…seems to be taking off. Facebook could learn a thing or two about the presentation of faux-live interaction (as I’ll call it) from Twitter…which for one reason or another seems everyday mundane life updates, fun.
Maybe this is also part of another large update for Facebook. There was word earlier that Facebook’s ‘Pulse’ feature was killed off. This was actually a kind of cool feature, giving overall site statistics based on things like bands and movies most often listed as favorites. This too, seemed to be hardly ever used so maybe Facebook is trying to find out how to better implement that as well.
