For each of the past two days one of the 10 most popular stories on Digg has been about Nine Inch Nails. Yesterday it was about the viral marketing sites set up for the new album, Year Zero (due April 17th), and today it was about a song off the new album that was supposedly found on a USB drive in a bathroom in Lisbon, Portugal.

Well I downloaded the new track and it’s great quality. I have to wonder, was this really “found” or is this another part of the viral marketing scheme. If so, it’s genius.

Two major stories on Digg in two days, almost 4,000 total Diggs. Huge exposure. Trent Reznor, fully exploiting what the web has to offer. Can’t wait for the new album.
