Ed Norton as The Incredible Hulk in the Do-Over?!

Wait a second, Edward Norton was just cast to play the Incredible Hulk in the new one coming out next summer? Does anyone else find it a bit odd that a movie that didn’t do that well (it made $132 million but cost $137 million to make) the first time around gets a bigger actor to play the lead role in the sequel?

What’s next, is George Clooney going star in the sequel to Derailed?

Perhaps even weirder is that it’s supposedly not going to be as much of a sequel as a ‘reboot’ a la Batman Begins. So a 4-year old franchise that consisted of one film needed a reboot?

With the ever-decreasing role of original content in Hollywood (just take a look at this summer’s release schedule, it’s all sequels), will this be the future – when a movie doesn’t do well, just pretend it never existed and try again with a new director and cast?

The Hollywood Do-Over has been born.
