On this blog post FON CEO Martin Varsavsky says:

“Gmail will soon be of unlimited capacity and its great to have all your e mail in one site including your old e mail.”

Googlified wonders if Varsavsky knows something everyone else doesn’t and spilled the beans – his company is after all a partner with Google on certain projects.

Even if it’s not coming soon, unlimited Gmail storage seems pretty likely in the future. The buzz has died down since Yahoo announced they would be offering unlimited storage, but when they actually get around to implementing it next month, Google is probably going to want to have something in play to counter it – Unlimited storage of their own would be nice.

Better yet would be a launch of Google Drive (aka Gdrive or Playtpus) with unlimited storage…

As a side note, Windows Live Hotmail is likely to launch out of beta next week. Google is probably just waiting until right after they launch to announce unlimited storage and screw Microsoft over yet again…
