The Most Prolific Blogger: Google?

Wow, Google has started another new blog: the Google Lat Long Blog. Described by them as their ‘Google “geo” blog‘, Lat Long basically looks like it’s going to be used for announcements for their Earth, Maps and Local services as well as those services’ related APIs.

They already have a pretty good post showing the before and after pics of the tornado in Kansas via Google Earth. Missing however is the announcement of Google Earth version 4.1. Luckily Ogle Earth, the unofficial Google Earth blog has them covered.

If my counting is correct (from the sidebar of the Official Google Blog), that brings the tally of official Google blogs to 51!

They should really get them all together and form a proper network. They could really make a killing off of AdSense…

In the inaugural blog on the Google LatLong, John Hanke muses on the meaning of the GeoWeb. If this issue interest you, why not check out the GeoWeb 2007 conference in Vancouver to be held this summer, July 23-27th (2007). This is the second year of the conference and last year drew people from more than 20 countries. For information and registration see http://www.galdosinc.com
