Technorati Gains Authority Especially with the MyBlogLog Faithful
Technorati rolled out some updates to their site today and there looks to be a couple of good changes.
The biggest difference that you’ll notice right away is that ‘Blogs linking in’ has been renamed ‘Authority‘. This is not only simpler but just makes a lot more sense to use as this is the way Technorati categorizes and ranks sites.
The other key change is on each site’s overview page. This page now serves as a good informational tool for a site and gives various information such as fans of the site (those who favorited it), what the newest posts are, what other sites link there, the top tags on the site, as well as the site description.
This new emphasis on the site overview page reminds me of MyBlogLog – which is a good thing. The site seems more alive now and less of a static collection of links. Hopefully the site fans feature will start to be meaningful beyond the recent gaming of it.
There also appears to have been a minor design revision to the WTF part of the site. I still like WTF despite the fact that no one seems to use it. While they now include your latest WTFs in your member profile page, I wish they’d add this to the site pages as well to try and amp up usage.

On a side note, the other site I write for, Pronet Advertising, has cracked the Top 100 (#83) in overall ranking. That’s pretty awesome.
This site is not quite as strong yet (just cracked the top 25K), but I am up about 3,000,000 (no joke) since January when I moved domains. My authority currently stands at 167, so you best listen.
If you like reading my site, feel free to add yourself as a fan.
