If I didn’t read about the ticker here, I wouldn’t haven’t know what it is for..

I think the ticker is a little distracting also.

@cornwall – fair point on the crap typeface, think they’re just trying to emulate wall street. I do like it thought, i think it’s an interesting way to show data, kind of reminds me of Digg Spy.

@markowe – i agree, there should definitely be a place for both. i’m kind of glad they decided not to use ‘authority’ to automatically rank results like google with PR.

love the freshness of the results that you can then filter by authority.

There’s still a big difference between Technorati blogsearch and Google blogsearch – as far as I can see, Technorati (despite the option to select authority rating) still returns results in strictly chronological order. Google does not – I guess that PR plays a role…?

So it seems they still both have a place. I use Technorati mostly to search for other people’s recent blogs on the same subject as mine. You couldn’t use Google for this.

Mergh, I hate the ticker, I can hardly read it and it's jerky. What a crap typeface.

What's the deal with moving text? It's as bad as CNN

Love the rest of it though.
