Pictures Continue to Get Clearer for Google Earth

Google Earth has been updated with updated and improved satellite imagery once again – Google Earth Blog has a good run down of the changes. Some of the major ones are that much of England is now in high resolution, Russia, New Zealand, and Greenland have some new coverage, and yes, Antarctica has some new high resolution coverage – I don’t know about you, but I love zooming down there to see what, if anything, is going on.

Also interesting is that Iran picked up some new coverage. This shouldn’t be all that surprising since I’m pretty sure Google Earth gets some of their satellite maps from the same people that give them to various government agencies – though months later. So in about a year you can probably expect to be able to read the newspapers in Iran within Google Earth.

Here’s more from Google Earth Blog on the very high-res imagery of the Western U.S.
