Blogger Continues to Beef Up
Google’s blogging service, Blogger, continues to gain useful features as a clear push is being made to improve the service and hopefully move it beyond simply being known as a splog (spam blog) haven. Today they announced that thanks to Google’s purchase of Feedburner, all regular Blogger feeds can now be forwarded to users who also use Feedburner ones (or any other service for that matter). This is huge as for the first time users will be able to consolidate their feeds and gets some actual numbers in terms of readers.
Blogger has also in recent days announced that the “Polls” feature is leaving “draft mode” and will be available to all regular site users, a partnership with the Twitter guys (who started Blogger originally) to get an official Twitter widget for Blogger, and finally that a new Search Box has entered Blogger Draft for testing.
All good stuff. Still need separate pages and a complete revamp of the comments thought…
