I Ceased, I Desisted

So I’m walking to lunch today when my iPhone starts buzzing in my pocket that I have a new email. I open it up and BOOM – it’s from none other than Apple’s legal department. Yes, I got served a takedown notice for a certain picture I had up in the previous post.

While I can’t go into the specifics, I actually found the notice to be quite cordial. Well okay, not cordial, but not all that threatening considering what could happen if I didn’t comply. It was just not at all what I expected one of those to be like.

Frankly I’m humbled that someone at Apple (or at least their legal department) somehow found their way to my site and thinks enough of me to demand that I remove something before too many people see it. I’m just kind of pissed that the one somewhat negative story I write about Apple out of 1,000 is the one I know they saw. Still, have love for you Apple.

@louis - yeah I was wondering as well at what point it become public knowledge. seems very grey...

@anon - yeah the consensus seems to be that no one wants to believe these are real despite the takedown notices...some misdirection from apple perhaps...

Looks like they handed you a ParisLemon... and you handed them some ParisDignity. Apple is the worst.

My bet is that those pictures are from a failed apple project that almost made it public. And they want to destroy all evidence before it taints the iPod brand.

Hmph. I'm not impressed with Apple Legal this time. I understand their need to protect IP, but once these photos were out on the Web, there is no going back. They are out for good.

MG, stay out of trouble though!
