Peter Jackson Coming Back to The Hobbit?

Word on the street is that Peter Jackson is in talks with New Line Cinema again to bring the Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit to the big screen. This is big news of course because ever since Return of the King came out, Jackson and New Line have been involved in multiple lawsuits against each other over profits from the hugely successful trilogy. The blood was so bad that it appeared New Line was going to go in another direction for The Hobbit – which would kind of be like not having George Lucas involved in a Star Wars movie (okay, maybe that wouldn’t be such a bad thing…)

If these reports are true, it’s good to see that common sense ultimately the product are overcoming business and bad blood. Peter Jackson needs to be involved in The Hobbit even if he chooses not to direct it. It’s too bad he lost all that weight, after seeing him flex his acting chops on Entourage, he would have made a pretty decent younger Bilbo Baggins.

I was wondering that also Eric - but Ian Holm is getting up there in age now, even though they did an awesome job on his young make up in Fellowship.

Tremendous news! I wonder if the great actor who plays Bilbo in the trilogy (Ian Holme, I believe?) will star in The Hobbit
