Are these the new iPod Nanos? First reports had them as complete fakes, but then Apple came out with the cease-and-desist guns blaring and it seems that there might – with an emphasis on might – be some merit to the pictures.

While the new design looks to be little more that a wider regular Nano with its bottom cut off, it probably can’t hurt Apple to stick with the mantra of make what works, and then make it smaller. Still, what is up with those color choices? These two are making Microsoft’s ‘Shit-Brown’ Zune look sexy. What is that like ‘Puce’ and ‘Muted Blue’? You’d think for sure Apple would do a Brushed Metal with Black trim one to match the new iMacs and iPhones.
