Good Call: Beatles. iTunes. September 5th.

Looks like my prediction about the stars aligning and The Beatles coming to iTunes in time for the September 5th Apple Event could be right on the money! AppleInsider posted the invitation today which features the sentence “The beat goes on.” – probably not coincidentally this also happens to be the ending sentence in The Beatles’ cryptic final press release as a band in 1970.

As if more proof was needed, today Apple rolled out the red carpet for former Beatles’ drummer Ringo Starr’s catalog on iTunes. This means that 3 of the 4 former Beatles have now been heavily promoted by iTunes in the past two weeks (with John and Paul getting the treatment last week).

Are we going to see George Harrison’s catalog launch next Tuesday right before the big day? I think so. Beatles. iTunes. September 5th.

    Sounds good. It could also be a bit punny as, the beat goes on... the iPod. Meaning, you can load the Beatles music on there.

    Perhaps I'm the only one who is seeing it, but the two album covers either side of center are Beatles covers. So yes, Sep 5 will include the Beatles on iTunes.

    @webomatica - yes, the beat-les go on...

    @duncan - I'm pretty sure they're not. I think the one on the left is a Beastie Boys album (tricky Bea...), not sure what the other is, but doesn't look familiar as a Beatles cover, unless its a single or some such.

    I'm 110% someone has already dissected this somewhere.

    this was the first thing I looked at as well though, but I think that would be a bit too obvious. Some subtlety is cool.
