A $200 iPhone Price Cut Might Make Sense If the 3G iPhone Is On the Horizon (In Europe)

We’re just hours removed from the latest Apple event and already news is shifting toward the next one. 20 days from now at the Apple Expo in Paris early word is circulating that Apple could use that as the event to announce the iPhone for Europe – a 3G, 16 GB iPhone!

Such an announcement would certain put today’s $200 price cut on the American iPhone in a new light. After all, I doubt Steve Jobs wants to sell the iPhone in Europe for $1,000 and how could they justify charging the Europeans $599 for a 3G, 16 GB iPhone, when in the U.S. we still would have had a EDGE, 8 GB one for $599…

Well, now in the U.S. we have an EDGE, 8 GB one for $399 and I think a lot of people would pay $599 for a 3G, 16GB one here as well. Lets hold out hope for MacWorld in January for that over here.

Engadget and 9to5Mac break it down further.
