Those folks who enjoy digging through code have found a few more gems of information that once again seem to point to an iTunes Movie Rental service launching soon.

What’s interesting is that this time the code diggers found the references buried within some code on the iPhone – indicating that not only will the movie rentals be compatible with the iPhone (I should hope so), but that you may very well be able to purchase them through the iPhone WiFi iTunes store. That would be truly awesome.

Imagine you’re in an airport on their WiFi and you ask the attendant at the desk what the movie is going to be on your upcoming flight – and it’s Wild Hogs – now instead of either not watching the movie or suffering through that garbage, you could hop on to the iTunes WiFi Movie Rental store and rent a movie to take with you on the plane.

You know Apple, some iTunes movie rental gift cards might be just the perfect holiday present – and could move quite a few Apple TVs – what’s the hold up? I’ve been talking about this since last April.
