As the person who came up with the project and the code name, I can reassure you that we’re not going to be launching with Fire Eagle.

Sorry, I shouldn’t have said “codenamed” in my post, my bad. TechCrunch stated that it was “tentatively called” meaning the name could very well stick – which I would think upon seeing the logo and site design they’ve already done some work on.

it's not going to be called fire eagle when it launches.

that's why it's called codenamed fire eagle.
