Macbook Nano To Be Only $1,500 and 3G iPhone in May 2008?
And in more Apple news (hey we are getting closer and closer to MacWorld), CNBC is now reporting (via AppleInsider) that Apple will launch the rumored sub-notebook at MacWorld next month, it will be 50% thinner, and that it is expected to be priced at only $1,500.
While the “aggressively priced” rumor has been around for a while, this is a bit surprising given that the device is said to use solid-state storage in lieu of a traditional platter-based hard drive – and those things are very expensive.
If this thing is in fact 50% thinner, has a solid state drive, lasts upwards of 5 hours, is something like 2-3 pounds, and is only $1,500 – you can expect this thing to absolutely fly off the shelves. I’m still holding out hope that they include some of the basic iPhone Multi-touch functions in the notebooks trackpad as well.
Also from the same report, CNBC claims the 3G iPhone will show up starting in late May/early June 2008. That would put it at under a year from the first iPhone to the 3G version.
