Add Subscriptions to Google Reader Right From Your iPhone
The Google Reader experience on the iPhone continues to improve. Recently the ‘Feeds’ area welcomed the ‘Add subscription’ button that you’ll recognize from the regular version of the site. Clicking on this button from the iPhone takes you to a ‘Discover and search’ page where you can search for a new feed or quickly add any of their pre-packaged bundles.
This ‘Add subscription’ button is certainly a welcome addition for me as I find myself surfing the web from everywhere (even my couch) via the iPhone more and more. Now I don’t have to try and remember every interesting site I find or write it down, I can simply hop over to Google Reader in the iPhone and add it.
I still would like to see bigger icons/touch areas for ’starring’ and ’sharing’ items on the iPhone Google Reader, as well as a back-to-the-individual-feed you were just reading button at the bottom of each feed item (right now there is just one at the top). While we’re at it, a bigger ‘mark these items as read’ area wouldn’t hurt either. Get all those and you’re golden Google Reader iPhone.
