Twitter Cans Joyent Amid Major Outage? One Day After Praising Them?

Okay, now this is getting interesting. Apparently just one day after Twitter wrote the post praising Joyent for their “highly scalable infrastructure”, the two have parted ways according to a post on Joynet’s blog:

Twitter has been officially off Joyent since 10PM last night. This may come as a surprise to some after yesterday’s posts here and here regarding the two companies working together. Those of us at Joyent appreciate the opportunity we had to work with the talented folks at Twitter. It is a great service. We wish Twitter every continued success.

Twitter apparently pulled off of Joyent at 10pm last night, which was a few hours after they began their scheduled maintenance – which certainly makes it seem as if they are blaming Joyent for the excessive outage. And yet at the end of Joyent’s post is this:

As I mentioned yesterday, Joyent is standing ready with excess free infrastructure to support Twitter through this transition in the event that they need it.

Are we in the midst of a PR Blog War between Twitter and Joyent? Twitter has no official response to all of this yet, but I’ll update when they do.
