April Fools Day? Bah Humbug!
I thought I’d have one more day, but no, just like last year, the April Fools joke posts are rolling in the day before. Maybe I sound like a grinch but I’m really not a fan. I think it’s just a case of it being funny the first few times, then it becomes kicking a dead horse, then kicking the guy who is kicking a dead horse, etc…
I also don’t like the ones that tease you with the promise of something great, or at least interesting. Last year Googlified made a new blog to announce the launch of Google Drive – something many of us have been waiting for for a long time now. There was Google Writer, an all-black 160 GB Wii, Microsoft’s Penguin Adoption Program, the list goes on.
Mainly I think my problem is that I do try to read most everything out there in a given day that is tech-related, and when I have to use my brain even further to sort fiction from reality, it gets tiresome. Hell, this post is tiresome to me right now, so I’ll end it by saying be careful what you read on any tech blog from this point forward.
[UPDATE]: Okay, I’m not a total grinch. I did like this one from last year by Facebook where they went all Oregon Trail on us in the News Feed.
This one is also pretty funny from CNET this year.
And this has to be one of the most obvious ones.
