Obama’s #1 Fanboy: Pat Buchanan

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything of a political nature on this site, but it’s always Barack Obama that gets me to do it. He’s someone who really came on to my radar after his speech at the Democratic convention in 2004. Then I started listening to his podcasts (yes, he had them). I could just tell he was something different in the world of politics.

Almost two years ago in my first post about him, I wrote: “I certainly hope he does decide to run for President in 2008.” And now he’s officially the Democratic candidate for President of the United States of America.

I think this Presidential race will be relatively close only because the Republicans will resort to a full-on politics of fear campaign to try and maintain power. But after watching the convention tonight, I think it’s pretty clear that baring any unforeseen disaster, the Republicans’ time at the helm of this country is over.

How good was Obama’s speech tonight? Just listen to Pat Buchanan talk about it.

It is hard to quibble over brilliance. This speech was just that and I am gratified that conservatives like Pat Buchanan can recognize it for what it was. People can put labels aside and vote for what's best for our nation. Vote Obama.

@anon - agreed. it's nice to cut through the spin bullshit and for someone to acknowledge something as being great even if they don't agree with it.
