Live from Switzerland: A Post about Posts
So I’m in Switzerland (above photo). It’s like 3 in the morning, maybe 4 in the morning — I have no idea since the country was nice enough to do daylight savings time the day before I leave to further mess up my already jet-lagged sleeping schedule. Anyways, people have been giving me crap for not writing on ParisLemon more often. And I hate writing about that in a post on ParisLemon, it’s beyond meta and into the realm of BS.
But anyways in case you’re reading. Sorry for the lack of updates. Beyond the regular busy-ness with work, I’ve been traveling a lot this month (New York, Spain, Switzerland and Germany — not to mention Silicon Valley, which is a pain in the ass of a commute itself.) That’s not an excuse, that’s just what I’ve been doing. I’m very busy with work, and most of the time I’m all talked out (written out) from everything I write for VentureBeat.
But I’ve been thinking a lot about it, and while I make no promises, I do still think that I can add something to the discussion of the blogosphere (yes, probably bitchmemes) here on ParisLemon too. I always have stuff to say, it’s just hard to get the motivation to type it out when I do that all day already, so you’ll excuse me if I don’t really edit these posts too hard, maybe don’t include pictures and maybe not even tag things — hell, maybe I’ll even do some video from time to time.
Blogging, at least when I started, was about something different it seems than it is now. But I see no reason why it can’t be the same again. I just have to remember not to take it so seriously here, and remember that I can really write anything I want (not that I’m restricted at work, I just know a lot more people are going to read that — especially with our New York Times deal, so naturally I’m going to be more thoughtful about what I say).
Also, I kind of hate the Blogger platform now. I know, I used to really like it cause it was so simple, but I’m pretty much hooked on WordPress now (which we use for work) and I even like Tumblr (which I use for ParisLime) a lot more. I think one day when I have time (maybe the holidays) I’ll switch things over. Maybe get a new design, maybe do a lot of things. Or maybe not. We’ll see.
Anyways, thanks to those who are still out there reading. I realize a cut from 151 posts in December 2007 to 3 (yes, three) so far this month is a bit extreme. It’s not that I have nothing to say, I just haven’t had time or motivation to say it. Maybe this post will at least up the motivation factor.
I am looking forward to a 2009 prediction post. I’ve done very well for 2008 so far, and I have a lot of thoughts about 2009 already.
