Facebook’s News Feed Redesign Rollout Starting at 10AM PT Today »

Just got the new feed. Initial thought: Much better. I almost never even looked at the “Highlights” area, which was buried in the lower right column (most people read left-to-right and up-to-down).

That said, it still seems a bit cluttered. I wonder if the two side columns shouldn’t be combined into one side column.

And Facebook desperately needs to do something about the way it displays comments on items. That light blue background is hideous and overwhelms the content it’s talking about. And it just takes up way too much room. They may want to take a page out of the playbook of a certain company they just bought.

Again, overall though, much better.

The greatest benefit of Facebook is that it has many groups on the site that you can join. So if you are interested in Chicago Cubs you can research Chicago Cubs in the groups section and you will be able to find friends on there that like the Cubs. This is just one example, I know that you can join groups of your favorite football team, television show, or whatever you want for the most part! If you can't find a group for your interest, you can simply create one!
