Apple's Q3 Estimates →
Apple announces Q3 earnings later this afternoon — as usual, Philip Elmer-DeWitt does his great roundup of analyst (both professional and those that actually know what they’re talking about) predictions.
Shocker: I suspect the numbers will be good. iPhone sales should be down (but only slightly) from last quarter. But iPad sales should be way up (given the full quarter of new iPad sales)....

Updated iPod Touch with 4-Inch Display, New Chip,... →
If Apple is going to update the iPhone with a larger screen, it makes sense that the iPod touch would get the same treatment, no? While they probably could wait a year to do that, the fact that the iPod touch went an entire year without an update, makes it seem more likely that it will get a rather significant one this fall.
Then again, maybe the new screen with be supply constrained and...

A Dock Connector. We're Freaking Out About A Dock... →
This has been the top story on Techmeme the entire day — complete with what may well be the worst headline ever to grace Techmeme: “What’s up dock? Apple to shrink connector for iPhone 5”

Adam Rittenberg:
A reasonable conclusion: Penn State football might not be back...

jkottke:
A few weeks ago, Twitter added an option to search the tweets of only the people you follow. This is useful for several different reasons (try searching for [recent pop culture key phrase] to see what I mean) but for those who use Twitter primarily to find cool links to read/watch, it’s an…

The Shit Sandwich That Comes With Chrome →
Chris Ziegler on the default inclusion of Flash in Chrome:
Google: solve this. Chrome is too important to the health of the internet for this to be anything other than a severity one issue. If Flash is mucking something up in a way that you can’t solve in Chrome alone, drop Flash from your release channel until Adobe gets its act together. It’ll hurt (I’ll feel it as much as...
