I think the last time Jony Ive was on stage to introduce a product was October 14, 2008 when he introduced the first unibody Macbook Pro. And yes, I’ve heard the reason he’s not there more is stage fright - I heard it was a big deal for him to speak publicly at the Apple memorial for Steve Jobs.

I do recall that. I believe that was the sort of strange event where Steve Jobs made everyone pass around the frame to touch it. It was great, except for you know, germs.
