Still, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Firebug.

Joe Hewitt on moving on from Facebook.

He says he’ll be back working independently on tools to help web developers/publishers as we move more towards HTML5. And given his previous work, I have no doubt he’ll kick ass at that.

Back when I was a wee web developer, Firebug was easily my most-used tool. Then I got an iPhone and Facebook had easily the most impressive mobile website I had ever seen. Guess who made that? Yep.

Then of course when native applications came to the iPhone, Hewitt made Facebook’s as well. It’s been the most downloaded app on the entire platform.
