You seem like a bright guy. While I understand your addiction to Apple devices (I own many myself, including an iPad) I don't understand why you don't see AT&T, whom you clearly loathe, as a deal breaker for the iPhone? I recently ditched my 3Gs for an Evo, not because I don't like the product but because I got sick of paying AT&T for terrible service they clearly have no plan to fix. they KNOW people like you will always line up and pay no matter how bad the service, and Apple certainly has no reasonn to expedite a new carrier partnership when their core customers won't walk even in the face of brutally poor carrier service. Sometimes you have to take a stand, send a message and vote with your dollars.

Sometimes I definitely feel that way. Then I use one of those other devices (which I get the opportunity to do for work), and am immediately turned off by all of them.

The closest to the iPhone, in my opinion, is the Nexus One running Android 2.2. But Google just basically axed that product.

And it wasn’t that close to the iPhone anyway.

As I’ve always stated, if someone makes a better phone, I’ll use it in a heartbeat. But no one has yet. And so I’m stuck with AT&T.
