The Sprint version of the Nexus S finally gets Ice Cream Sandwich today.
Better 5 months late than never, I suppose.

Did you see that even on the flagship Galaxy Nexus Hulu+ just dropped support even though the app was working perfectly?

Yeah, though that seems like more of a bug issue (as in they pulled it due to bugs with Ice Cream Sandwich) rather than an outright block. We’ll see though. “Open” works in mysterious ways.

Wow. Josh Topolsky is mad. And that by itself is fine — he’s clearly passionate about technology, which is great. What’s not fine is the fact that he’s way off-base in his rant. So far off-base that I need to respond.
First and foremost, Topolsky has decided to turn my thoughts on the Galaxy Nexus into full on class warfare between Android and iOS. That is, he twists my comparison of attention to detail into an argument about rich vs. poor people.
I mean, he actually tries to do this.
One little problem.

Long story short: Google wanted to put Google Wallet on the Galaxy Nexus — the “clean install” Android that everyone loves so much — and Verizon said “no”.
Guess who wins here? Well, the software will not be available to Verizon Galaxy Nexus users.
Verizon issues a release saying they’re not blocking it — which is likely the biggest load of bullshit ever. No, they’re not blocking it specifically, they just won’t let Google release the Galaxy Nexus if it’s anywhere to be found on the device. Nor can users download it after the fact. Why? Some hardware claim that seems to be a flat-out lie.
Long story shorter: you get in bed with the devil, the devil fucks you.
Long story shortest: “open”.
But of the three major smartphone operating systems, Android is still by far the most confusing. It’s also the least likely to inspire joy.
